Happy Monday after the holiday! It’s pretty clear there was a holiday, and that I was liking the chicken, burgers, and hot dogs a bit too much, as I tipped the scales at 210.5 this morning, which is a solid two pounds heavy for me. What can I say, when the grills come out, I’m all over that.

I could also place the blame for some of this on my lifting routine, which got more intense again this week. I’m back to lifting hard, and running, which is making for more tiring workouts. I can’t complain though, I do really enjoy it.

Over all, these are fairly quiet weeks. I have some work up in New York to do, and a meeting or two here and there. I’m enjoying my time here in Easton with my friends and family, and especially my dogs. I’ll be on the road more sooner or later, and that will keep me very busy going forward.

Happy Monday Morning! I’m another week older, and so are you. The good news is that last week was decently successful. The bad news? I have to do that again. Here’s the highlights:

  • I’m officially on the ballot for Palmer Township Auditor. The county’s board of elections now has the papers they need from me, and I am going to be a candidate. My no good, rotten opponent doesn’t exist.
  • I went to the Bronx and saw Maikel Franco hit a homer in the Phillies win Tuesday. I sat in the left-field bleachers, a first for me.
  • I ran an 8:58 mile, my best time since high school. I didn’t hit my five workouts though, so it was a bad week.
  • I did attend the Hillary Fundraiser, as well as one for my friend, Steve Barron.

This week it’s hit the gym, celebrate the 4th, attend the Philly Hillary event, and maybe do some work along the way. We’ll see how the week unfolds.

Other than tipping the scales a little heavy (209.8), it’s a very happy Monday morning! The past week saw:

  • The Rolling Stones at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.
  • Aaron Nola’s AAA debut for the IronPigs against top Toronto prospect Daniel Norris.
  • An IronPigs walk-off win the night before.
  • The best weight work-out I’ve had in like two years this past Friday.
  • My first sub-10:00 mile in probably a dozen years.

So last week was a great week. This week I will:

  • File my ethics paperwork as a candidate for Palmer Township Auditor.
  • Attend fundraisers for Hillary for America in Trenton and DC.
  • Pay my June bills.
  • Hopefully a little more than this.

Have a great Monday and a great week.

Happy Monday

Ok, I’m going to plug Pennsylvania’s second largest city hard here. It’s a great city to visit. The North Shore stadium district is beautiful, as is the Point State Park area. If you go up in the hills across the Monongahela and Ohio at night, the views you can get of Pittsburgh are spectacular. I enjoyed myself a Primanti Brothers sandwich as well. Don’t let the old “Rust Belt” label make you think it is dirty or polluted either- Pittsburgh’s cleaned up nice. The only “strange” thing is how fast the “city” ends in the “suburbs” out there, but even that is nice (for traffic purposes). I recommend you visit Pittsburgh

I am fully recovered from driving to Pittsburgh and back in the last two days, and ready to roll this week. I spent Saturday evening and Sunday in Western Pennsylvania’s big city, and I was actually pleasantly impressed. Pittsburgh is a lot different from say, New York City, but it’s a very cool, very photogenic city. More on that at another time though.

This week is packed with interesting stuff. Lot of work in New York and I have to get my ethics paperwork in for my run for Palmer Auditor. Also, this coming Saturday I return to Pittsburgh to see the Rolling Stones. I’d say that’s a fun enough week ahead.

It’s Monday, June 8th, and a very busy week is under way. I’ll be in New York City at the Yankees-Nationals game on Wednesday afternoon. I’ll be in the suburbs of the city a couple of times this week as well on business. On Saturday I will be leaving to head to Pittsburgh to see my sister compete in Miss Pennsylvania, and then I’m staying to see the Phillies on Sunday at PNC Park. All the while I will be working on the Hillary fundraiser on the 30th, and other political business.

I tipped the scales a little heavy at 209 today. I’ll be going out and trying to break ten minutes in the mile today for the first time. Wish me luck.

Happy Monday Morning, and as always, be happy to be alive today! Today is Memorial Day, so I do hope that you are enjoying a day off, the company of your family and friends, and hopefully remembering those who made this day possible. Nothing great is built without sacrifice, and that is certainly true of America.

Here’s today’s notes:

  • The highlight of last week was certainly getting to Jersey City on Friday night and getting together with some former co-workers. We hit a new beach themed bar in the afternoon and a coffee shop/bar/club near City Hall at night. Jersey City is becoming an awesome place to go, and really is a city going in the right direction.
  • The lowlight of last week was election night. Losing is simply never fun, no matter how prepared you are for it, and no matter how much you know you couldn’t stop it this time. Working in Philadelphia was a great experience, and I’d do it again, but that doesn’t make it any easier when things don’t go your way.
  • Did I achieve any goals? Nah. I weighed 207 yesterday, so I have 17 pounds to go. Other than that, this week we start working on self-improvement.
  • What’s ahead this week? Well, we should find out by about mid-week if I won the nomination as a write-in for Palmer Township Auditor, which would lessen the sting of last Tuesday for me. There’s also a very special announcement coming on another front. Oh- and job hunting. I go visit a good friend on Thursday evening in Bethlehem, maybe get to DC at some point, and get back in the gym on a new routine tomorrow.

Have a great start to this week!

Another week is over, and a new one just begun. Last week I had goals. This week, I still have goals.

Get a passport.
Pay my credit cards down this year.
Take my current weight of 210.5 pounds down to 190 pounds by July 4th.
Take my GRE.
Bench 300 pounds again by year’s end.
Learn a foreign language.

Start an LLC.
Open a PAC.
Go to a football game at Notre Dame.
Go to Wrigley Field.

And the results of this week:

  • Turning in the application tomorrow.
  • I think my outstanding tax return will help with this.
  • I weighed in at 207.5 today.
  • No progress.
  • No progress.
  • No progress.
  • Talking to some potential partners today.
  • This week.
  • ND-Texas, Labor Day weekend.
  • Working on this one for this Summer.

So I had some ups and downs this week. Mostly ups though, so that’s good.

Sincerely GC
