Here’s today’s power rankings for the playoffs:

  1. Texas Rangers- They’re on fire, and leading arguably the best division in the AL.
  2. Los Angeles Dodgers- They’re hot, and more importantly Kershaw is hot. They have the best one-two punch.
  3. St. Louis Cardinals- I hate this team, but they just beat up the Pirates in Pittsburgh.
  4. Toronto Blue Jays- If they get home field, you have to like their odds. Best offense in the game.
  5. Pittsburgh Pirates- They still get to play home in the Wild Card game, and they have a complete squad.
  6. Chicago Cubs- They still have Arrieta to face Cole in the Wild Card game, so look out.
  7. New York Mets- If anything, I think they clinched too early, but they have the arms to go all the way.
  8. New York Yankees- They don’t feel like they have enough to me, but it’s the Bronx in October.
  9. Kansas City Royals- This team has as much talent as any team, but they got to coast in and didn’t play well in September.
  10. Houston Astros- If they do get in, they limped in. Sometimes that works, usually it doesn’t.
