The New and Improved Sixers?

Last year the Sixers went 18-64 on their way to the second worst record in the Eastern Conference and Atlantic Division. It was a rough season that left us feeling like very little is in place. The off-season was one though that brought clarity. Drafting Jahlil Okafor was the highlight of the off-season, but a major trade with Sacramento brought in Nik Stauskas, and signing Kendall Marshall, transforming this roster.

Today the Sixers open training camp, and the question is how much progress this team can make. A line-up that will include Nerlens Noel, Okafor, and Stauskas should have considerably more ability than the group that played last year, but there are questions. Will Stauskas actually pull it together? Can Noel and Okafor co-exist? Who will be the starter at the point? Who’s going to play the three?

Even with all of these questions, I expect the Sixers to improve in 2015-2016. Expecting a ten game improvement from this team only really means having enough imagination to see some of the young talent progress. Right now I see this team winning right around 30 games. We’ll see.
