Viva il Papa! Pope Francis Arrives in America

Pope Francis has arrived for his first trip to the United States. He will spend the next couple of days in Washington, D.C., before stops in New York City and Philadelphia. He is expected to speak on income inequality, climate change, and issues facing the Catholic family during his trip to the U.S. He was greeted at Andrews Air Force Base by President Obama, his family, and a large contingent of fans.

I consider this Pope to be one of the great global and moral leaders of my lifetime. His message is sorely needed in our nation right now, and I hope it his heard in all corners of our nation. He has preached the actual gospel of our Lord, regardless of what controversy it has caused. His message of dignity and respect for all is one that could lead us all to be better people, if we hear it. I’m proud of his work, and proud that he is in America. I hold high hopes for his visit.
