Who’s Hot in MLB’s Pennant Races?

There are under two weeks left in the MLB season. Here’s the state of the races:

  • NL East- The New York Mets might clinch this week, but basically are in good shape to clinch by early next week.
  • NL Central- The Pirates and Cubs can get close, but they can’t catch the Cardinals. It’s getting late for both.
  • NL West- The Dodgers are on their way to another division title.
  • NL Wild Card- It’s only a matter of who’s home between the Pirates and Cubs.
  • AL East- The Blue Jays can put it away with a few wins over the Yankees this week, for all intents and purposes.
  • AL Central- Kansas City won this a while ago.
  • AL West- The Rangers are on fire right now. They look pretty good.
  • AL Wild Card- The Yankees are still looking good. The Astros and Angels are sorting out their placement right now, and Minnesota is alive.

So, my playoff power rankings for today:

  1. Texas Rangers
  2. Los Angeles Dodgers
  3. Chicago Cubs
  4. Toronto Blue Jays
  5. New York Mets
  6. Kansas City Royals
  7. Pittsburgh Pirates
  8. St. Louis Cardinals
  9. New York Yankees
  10. Houston Astros

Put Minnesota at 11, just missing out. Then list the Angels, Indians, Giants, and Nationals on the close, but not quite list.
