Kendall Marshall and the Sixers Roster

The Philadelphia 76ers are finalizing a deal with Kendall Marshall to bring the point guard to Philadelphia. While no one would describe this as a major free agent signing, he’s probably a starter here, and the most significant signing by the Sixers in several years. He would provide the Sixers with a solid option amongst a questionable group of guards they currently have.

The Sixers currently have 16 players on their roster, pre-Marshall. They can dress 13 and carry 15 on the roster. We know that Joel Embiid will occupy one of the two non-dress roster spots going into the season. Okafor, Noel, and Stauskas would seem to be total locks to make the roster, while Covington, Wroten, Thompson, Aldemir, Landry, Canaan, and Grant would seem to be favored. Marshall would be a lock if signed too. That would put the Sixers at 11 of their 13, and 12 of their 15 slots. Then you’re watching Wallace, Tokoto, Sampson, Holmes, and Hernangomez compete for two spots going into camp.
