Tonight will be my 30th professional baseball game of the season. This has been an interesting season of ball games, as I saw a new stadium for me, got a few baseballs, said goodbye to a legendary Phillies pitcher, and saw a number of prospects putting in their final preparations for the majors.

This season I have been to 16 IronPigs home games at Coca-Cola Park. In those games, I have seen such prospects as Maikel Franco, the debut of Aaron Nola, Aaron Altherr, Jerad Eickhoff, and Jesse Biddle, to name a few. I’ve got a foul ball. I’ve probably consumed too many Fegley’s Amber Lager’s too. While the team stinks according to the standings, it’s still been a lot of fun being there. I have two remaining games on the plan for this year.

Tonight will be my 11th game in Philadelphia to see the Phillies this season, which is rather low for me actually, but it’s been that kind of year. While it’s been a tough year for the Phils, it’s still been fun sitting down along the right field foul line for my 25th year on the ticket plan. I did manage to get an MLB ball there, my first in a while. That seemed so easy when I was getting hundreds as a kid in the Vet. Now it’s fun.

I’ve been up to Yankees Stadium twice this year, once to see my Phillies and once to see a Yankees-Nats game. I’m not in the majority as a Phillies fan here, but I really like the Bronx and going to a game there. I never have a bad time. Of course it’s fun when Maikel Franco is going off, but that’s a whole other story.

Finally I went to a game in Pittsburgh to see the Phillies and the Pirates play. It ironically was the last time I would ever see Utley, Howard, and Hamels play together. The Phillies didn’t win, but it was a great time. What a nice park.

And so it goes. I hit my pre-season goal of 30 games this season. Hopefully I make it to 35 now.
