Nola Passes First Test

Aaron Nola drew a bigger, louder crowd to Citizens Bank Park than they’ve had in a little while. While some like me questioned if he should have been called up yet, he went out and did a very nice job in his debut. He survived six innings, he pitched out of trouble at times, and simply blew the Rays away at others. He did give up a homer to an AL pitcher, and he did take the loss, but on the whole, Nola more than passed the test for the Phillies. Let’s hope he can keep this up moving forward.
