Not Every Criticism of a Woman is “Mansplaining” Something

unnamed-1

Nothing in this exchange surprises me:

On Wednesday Dimon said that he didn’t know if Warren “fully understands the global banking system.” Not quite, Warren responded.

“The problem is not that I don’t understand the global banking system. The problem for these guys is that I fully understand the system and I understand how they make their money,” Warren said in response in an interview with The Huffington Post reported on Friday. “And that’s what they don’t like about me.”

As I said, no shock. Dimon made a common attack on Warren. Warren made her normal response. For Warren, this endears her to her fans. This won’t hurt her at all. She more than handles hitting herself in these fights.

So, why this? Crying sexism on a substantive attack is both foolish and harmful to Warren. Just because it was a man attacking Warren, doesn’t make it “mansplaining.” This is just dumb.
